The Bafang BBS02B 48V 500W Mid-Drive Motor is a high-performance e-bike drive system designed for off-road and private land use. With a rated power output of 500W, it is not permitted for use on public roads, cycle paths, or pavements in the UK or EU.

Based on Bafang’s proven BBS platform, the BBS02B delivers strong and dependable pedal assistance through a cadence-based sensor system. Power is applied progressively as you pedal, providing consistent support that enhances your ride without feeling jerky or abrupt — ideal for trail riding, private land use, and recreational off-road cycling.

As a mid-drive unit, the BBS02B drives power through the bike’s drivetrain, improving climbing efficiency and maintaining balanced weight distribution. This results in stronger hill performance, improved battery efficiency, and a more natural riding feel compared to hub motors.

The system uses CAN Bus communication for stable operation and accurate data transmission, and is compatible with a wide range of Bafang displays, allowing flexible setup and configuration.
